AUSTRALIA DAY 2011 & 2012

                                AUSTRALIA DAY 2011 & 2012
Australia day festivities at ST MARY'S CATHEDRAL was a  colourful occasion of patriotism, faith and fun.
Volunteers Wearing distinctive gold sashes welcomed visitors to the Cathedral with ready smiles. 
Youngsters were indited to take part in the Kids in the Cathedral poetry and drama workshops during the day. A tour of the bell tower gave visitors a behind-the-scenes view of the home of the cathedral's well-known bells.
Guests were invited to view the post-Vatican II vestment exhibition in the crypt, while youth groups raised money for World Youth Day 2013 in Rio by selling bottler water. Fr Paul Hilder, dean of cathedral, and the corps of Guardians of the Anzac Memorial, Douglas James, David Evans and Theodore Arfaras , laid a wreath at the Memorial of the Unknown Soldier, and many attraction around Hyde Park near to St Mary's.
